Just ask George, just ask...

So Bush the elder responded like a father rather than a former chief executive recently.

"Do they want to bring back Saddam Hussein, these critics?" the elder Bush railed to the USA Today. "Do they want to go back to the status quo ante? … Do they think life would be better in the Middle East if Saddam were still there?"

Ask the Iraq people, George, if they would be better off with Saddam still in power or with their current situation?

Ask the American taxpayer, who is asking his/her children and grandchildren to shoulder a $3 trillion debt, if life would be better without the invasion begun in 2003?

Ask the families of American service personnal who have lost loved ones, seen family maimed, dismembered and permanently disabled(more than 30,000 who, often, have difficulty receiving care at the underfunded VA medical centers), or bore the emotional and mental baggage of service personnel returning with severe psychological problems?

Ask the other Middle Eastern countries or the record number of refugees (In January, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that according to the U.N., 40 percent of Iraq's middle class had fled its country) since the U.S. invaded Iraq, if they are better off?

Ask the Americans who care about our moral standing in the world if we are better off after the lies and deceptions that coerced Congress and the American people to acquiesce to your son's militaristic "solution" for the Middle East?

Yeah, just ask....
